Paul Rusesabagina has removed himself from his trial. He informed the judges that he has not found justice and there has been a lack of respect for his rights. He had been denied access to his personal lawyers, limited access to his Rwandan lawyers, and held incommunicado and tortured by Rwandan authorities.

The High Court ruled Paul Rusesabagina’s kidnapping as legal due to the claim force was not involved. The government has admitted Paul was lured to Rwanda, which is illegal under international law. In addition, the court said Rusesabagina was legally arrested and presented with an arrest warrant, though none have been produced.
