The family of Paul Rusesabagina are extremely concerned about his health. Paul’s wife, Taciana, a trained nurse, believes the Rwandan government is setting Paul up to suffer a stroke due to his ongoing hypertension. Paul has received minimal medication while in his imprisonment.

Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) wrote Rwandan President Paul Kagame and urged him to release Hotel Rwanda hero Paul Rusesabagina. Maloney affirms Rusesabagina’s story in her letter. She also states when Kagame took Rusesabagina against his will, Kagame violated international and United States law.

The family and legal representatives of illegally extradited and jailed humanitarian Paul Rusesabagina announce a lawsuit against aviation company GainJet for their role in Rusesabagina’s kidnapping. The complaint was filed in federal court in San Antonio, Texas.

Included in the points is Rusesabagina’s status as Belgian citizen and Rwanda’s lack of following of legal international extradition procedures.
