Children of Illegally Jailed Humanitarian Paul Rusesabagina Share Emotional Message
CHICAGO – Oct. 22, 2020 – Nearly two months ago, Paul Rusesabagina, the international human rights icon whose incredible story of saving 1,268 people during the Rwandan Genocide was told in the film Hotel Rwanda, was kidnapped from Dubai. He remains detained in a Rwandan jail in violation of international law.
In addition to international outcry about the blatantly illegal circumstances of his detention, Paul’s family continues to be incredibly concerned about his health and wellbeing. He is a cardiac patient and a cancer survivor in remission, and he’s been treated at a hospital three times already during his detention. He is a beloved hero and inspiration to many, including his six children who are equally committed to his mission for social justice. They are working tirelessly to help secure his freedom.
Watch this video of Paul’s youngest children, daughters Anaïse and Carine and son Trésor, speak about the inspiring man they are proud to call Dad.
